Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

Share my blog

When we take the time to think about all of the things that we have to be thankful for, it is amazing the long list that we come up with.

I do my best to live each day with the attitude of gratitude. It takes practice to be consciously aware of all that we have, the abundance in our lives and to be thankful for all of it all of the time.

This Thanksgiving our family celebrates with a heavy heart as my mom is on Hospice and my dad is on dialysis as well as having dementia. We have been able to keep them at their home as they requested and provided them with full time caregivers.

Steve & I flew in from England for six weeks so that we can be with our family for the entire holiday season – Thanksgiving, Chanukah, Christmas, my dad’s birthday and New Year’s Eve.  We all know that this could be the last time my parents will be with us on the holidays.

However, even under these circumstances we have so much to be thankful for.
