It’s been a long time since I have written a story for my Blog.

I love writing stories, telling stories and hearing stories. I believe that is what our life is all about. It is a book – the Book of Life – with chapters, hopefully many, of stories, experiences, adventures, challenges, and survival along the way on this journey that we call life.

It has been one and a half years since my cancer came back (for the third time).

  • First time – original diagnosis, December 2000
  • Second time – recurrence, February 2018
  • Third time – recurrence, February 2023

It was on our winter visit home to our family and friends in Southern California that I had a routine blood test. When I saw the results, I knew that the cancer was trying to come back.

I decided that I wanted to be treated in France again. I did some research a few days before we left to come back to France, and I made an educated decision that I was not going to have chemotherapy ever again. I found that there were a few targeted immunotherapy drugs for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I stayed focused on knowing that this could be an option for me.

I had to share my new health issues with our sons Jonathan and Joshua before returning to France to be treated. They agreed with both of my decisions and gave me their full support.

We contacted my oncologist in France and emailed him my blood test results. He arranged an appointment for me to meet with him as soon as we returned. Shortly after we arrived – right around my birthday. He arranged all of the test, scans and blood tests over the next few weeks. Unfortunately, they all confirmed that the cancer had come back again.

With all of the results in hand, my oncologist and his team of doctors who specialize in non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and a number of scientific researchers had a meeting talking about my cancer health history over the past 24 years. They all agreed on two therapies that would work best for me. My oncologist shared the two therapies with me and then gave me the choice.

I chose… to be continued…

  1. Hi Max!

Lovely to hear from you. Not lovely that your cancer has returned: but great decision not to go the chemo route.

I am now qualified and working with clients worldwide as a health coach. It is my belief based on all the amazing stuff I have learned along the way on this incredible journey that everything starts from a clean diet, lifestyle, sleep, purpose, and sunshine. If you would like some guidance on your journey to healing, then please get in touch. The best diet to support your treatment would be a very low carb strategy, much like Zoe Harcombe‘s diet which you and Steve adopted early last decade. I have seen success in so many clients by following this type of protocol. You can contact me via my website or just reply to my email.

Sending healing and lots of love, Emma xx

PS such a funny coincidence to open your email this morning; Simon and I were only just talking about you about three hours ago. I was recounting your excellent advice to always keep networking because it is the route to success and I have held that information and that advice close to my heart ever since, even though when you said it to me, I didn’t even really know what networking actually was!

  2. So sorry the cancer has come back. You’re just awesome the way you face into it! Wishing you strength and continuing stamina in this next part of your journey to beat cancer!

    1. Jackie, The cancer came back one and a half years ago. I am now free of cancer TG.
      Sorry for the confusion xx
